Meet the Gameband.
A new Kickstarter campaign has caught the eyes of various tech publications including T3 Middle East. The Gameband may look like any other smartwatch, but it is actually one of the smartest.
Specifications-wise, the Gameband is a powerhouse. It is powered by the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon Wear 2100 processor along with 512 MB of RAM and 4 GB of storage. There is also an accelerometer, gyroscope and light sensor. The Gameband also includes dual-band Wi-Fi and Bluetooth plus a 400 mAh battery and microSD card slot and even charges using USB Type-C.
The 1.6 square-shaped screen of the Gameband has a 320 x 320 resolution – and it is made from AMOLED so that it looks great when displaying games.
You heard that right – games. Aside from basic Android Wear functionality the Gameband also includes various mini games that you can play directly on the smartwatch. Classic Atari games like Asteroids, Pong, Breakout, Centipede and Crystal Castles are just some of the games coming on the smartwatch.
The best part is that with the microSD card slot, users can also add more games that they can play on the device.
If you’re interested, you can check out Gameband’s Kickstarter page for more information. If it looks as good as it is on the page, then it’s definitely one of the most functional wearables we’ve seen in a while.
