An app made specifically for people with visual disabilities.

Microsoft’s new app, Seeing AI, is a new way for people with visual impairments to enjoy their surroundings. Using your smartphone camera, the app can narrate and tell you what it is looking at – this includes text and documents. It can even recognize some packages and read QR codes. It can even recognize and remember people’s faces and give you a rough estimation of their age and mood.

While the app was clearly designed for disabled users, others can also try out the app and see how much technology has advanced to be able to offer something like this.

The best part? It’s a free app that you can readily download to your iOS device. It’s available only to iOS users for now, but there’s a good chance Microsoft will be bringing it for Android users as well.
