Just in time for the 2020 Olympics.
Fresh off the heels of the successful launch of Super Mario Run, Nintendo has revealed that it is planning to build a ‘Super Nintendo World’ right inside Universal Studios Japan in Osaka. They’re targeting an opening date of 2020 – just in time for the Summer Olympics.
“[The park’s goal is] to bring the characters, action and adventure of Nintendo video games to life within Universal theme parks. And to do so in new and innovative ways that capture what makes them so special,” the creative forces said in a statement.
Super Nintendo World is looking to bring the virtual worlds that the company has created to real life, just like what Universal Studios has done to famous films.
Universal Studios also announced that following the launch of Super Nintendo World in Osaka, they would be bringing the same concept in its own parks in Orlando and Hollywood.
