Uber: The President has left the building

Uber president Jeff Jones leaves his post after 6 months.

Recode has just reported (and Uber confirmed) that current Uber president Jeff Jones is leaving his post less than a year after being appointed. He is the second top executive to leave the country after various allegations of sexual harassment were reported inside the company.

In a statement published by Recode, Uber said, “We want to thank Jeff for his six months at the company and wish him all the best.”

In a separate statement, Jones mentioned that it was in fact the recent issues with the company that forced him to leave his position. “It is now clear, however, that the beliefs and approach to leadership that have guided my career are inconsistent with what I saw and experienced at Uber, and I can no longer continue as president of the ride sharing business,” he said in a statement with Recode who first reported the news.

Jones worked as a CMO for Target before being fetched by Uber a couple of months back. As recent resignations and other issue plague the popular ride-sharing app, we can only wait and see how Uber will tackle all of these problems and gain back the trust from the public.
