As part of Apple’s Q3 2017 earning call, Apple CFO Luca Maestri seemingly confirmed that Apple Pay is making its way to more countries by the end of this year, including the UAE.

Along with the UAE, Denmark, Finland and Sweden will also get Apple Pay around the same time. The service was initially introduced in the US and other countries two years ago. It’s a mobile payment and digital wallet service that lets you pay for purchases using only your iPhone.

"The reach, usage, and functionality of Apple Pay continue to grow. We launched Apple Pay in Italy in May. And the UAE, Denmark, Finland, and Sweden are scheduled to go live before the end of this calendar year," Maestri said in a statement.

Apple Pay was first introduced on the iPhone 6, though it didn’t support the UAE at launch. Similar services like Samsung Pay have already launched in the country earlier this year.

We will likely get to know more information about the inevitable launch of Apple Pay in the UAE by the time the next iPhone is announced – which is a month away.
