Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai has just announced a new initiative that will aim to teach young Arabs in the region about the benefits of coding and programming.

Called the One Million Arab Coders Initiative, the move will also help Arabs with various employment opportunities that should help them get the jobs they want along with harnessing skills that that used to belong only a select few.

"Coding is the language of the modern era. Our goal is to teach it to one million young Arabs, in order to prepare them now for the requirements needed to excel in the future,” said Sheikh Mohammed in a statement.

Interested young Arabs should register at www.arabcoders.ae where they will receive free training provided by the best international companies. Along with that, more than $1 million worth of incentives will be provided to top students and their tutors.

The initiative will have three stages in the course of two years, with the final stage gathering 1,000 coders who will compete to get a $1 million prize.
