See Hyperloop in action

Abu Dhabi to Dubai in only 12 minutes.

Hyperloop One has just shared images and video as a first look at its Nevada Desert Development Site (DevLoop) at Middle East Rail. The test structure for Hyperloop comes in at 500-meters and weighs more than one million kilograms.

Hyperloop One’s CEO Rob Lloyd shared the updates on a recent keynote at the annual event and gave a bird’s-eye view of the construction phase for the test suite. DevLoop will come at a 3.3 meter diameter and is located 30 minutes away from Las Vegas in the Nevada desert.

Hyperloop One’s promise of a superfast transport will see commute times from Dubai to Abu Dhabi in just 12 minutes. The ultimate plan is to connect other cities in the GCC using Hyperloop One that will at most an hour to travel vast distances.

While technology is revolutionizing many facets of our lives, we have not seen a radical change in transportation since the Wright brothers introduced air travel over 100 years ago,” said Lloyd. “Tying together the Middle East region would produce greater virtual density, without congestion and pollution, spurring innovation, productivity, job growth and more powerful sharing of knowledge, labor and investment. Building a Hyperloop would vastly impact the economy and make any major city in the GCC accessible within one hour.”
