Keeping to its promise, OnePlus has already informed users of the OnePlus 3/3T that its new version of the Oxygen OS based on Android 8.0 Oreo is now rolling out in beta that they can try out.

Keeping to its promise, OnePlus has already informed users of the OnePlus 3/3T that its new version of the Oxygen OS based on Android 8.0 Oreo is now rolling out in beta that they can try out.

The public beta includes all the bells and whistles of Android Oreo including picture-in-picture support, notification dots along with various new patches and updates. OnePlus did warn users that this particular beta still has some stability problems concerning NFC and Bluetooth so you might want to hold off the beta if you’re using those functions.

The final release should roll out sometime before the year ends. Based on OnePlus’ current track record for updating its smartphones, it is likely that Android Oreo is the last major update that it will be getting with attention focusing on newer models like the OnePlus 5.

If you remember a few months back, OnePlus promised that Android 7.0 Nougat will be heading to the OnePlus 2 but pulled out the last minute, easily angering its fanbase.
