While attention was focused on Honor’s upcoming 7X smartphone, it wasn’t the only device the company is introducing. In fact, Honor is also launching the WaterPlay tablet, an IP67 rated device that is one of the few tablets that support water-resistance.

The Honor WaterPlay has stereo speakers made by Harman Kardon along with a home button that also has a built-in fingerprint reader. Inside, it’s powered by the Kirin 659 octa-core processor along with 3 / 4 GB of RAM and 32 / 64 GB of storage. The tablet has a huge 10.1-inch display that comes at 1920 x 1200 pixels. There’s also an 8-megapixel camera at its back.

Adding to the waterproof design is the WaterPlay’s massive 6,660 mAh battery that also supports fast charging. Honor said that this should give you more than 13 hours of battery when watching a movie. That’s enough for you to watch all three extended editions of The Lord of the Rings with a single charge.

The tablet will initially launch in China later this month and seeing that Honor has also built quite a decent following here in the Middle East, we can expect it to launch in our region sometime soon.
