New iPads will be introduced this March.
March is usually the time when Apple holds its spring keynote. Aside from a new version of iOS (not a major upgrade but an incremental one), this is the time where they usually announce a new batch of iPads.
Apple’s famed tablet has evolved through the years, undergoing thinner designs and sprouting various versions like the 12.9-inch iPad Pro in addition to the 7.9-inch iPad Mini. These models, including the normal 9.7-inch option, were the three main versions available for consumers.
But recent rumors suggest that Apple is revamping that lineup. First is that a new 12.9-inch model is being prepped as the second generation iPad Pro, and a new 10-inch model will be the new flagship. Lastly, the 9.7-inch model will now become the low-end tier.
That technically means that the 7.9-inch iPad Mini might soon bite the dust, but since these are rumors we can’t really rely on these information as concrete proof.
Still, it’s an interesting take on how Apple plans to bring the iPad forward, considering that tablet sales in the past few months have been steadily declining.
