Viral tweet could overtake Ellen DeGeneres’ record.
A simple tweet to a fast food chained is slowly racking up retweets that might surpass Ellen DeGeneres’ recent record made when she hosted the Academy Awards. 16-year-old Carter Wilkerson tweeted to Wendy’s asking how many retweets it would take to give him a year’s supply of nuggets.
When Wendy’s replied with a tweet saying 18 million, it served as a challenge for the young boy to get that much retweets. It started as a joke, but all of a sudden the tweet went viral.
At the moment, there are 2.7 million retweets, which is close to breaking the current record. It’s still gaining more retweets, and has already caught the attention of other companies as well.
Who knew a world record will be achieved through chicken nuggets?
