Belkin Valet Charger: Portable charging made easy

Index

A battery pack made for your Apple Watch.

Belkin is one of the top makers of accessories for Apple devices. And they’re expanding their portfolio with the Valet Charger, a power bank that includes a wireless charger made for the Apple Watch.

From the outside, the Valet Charger looks like any other power bank: it includes a microUSB port for charging and a separate USB port for charging other peripherals. There is also a button that gives the current battery level, indicated by four green LEDs.

The Valet Charger packs 6700 mAh of juice which offers 10 watts /2 amperes of power, enough to charge both your smartphone and the Apple Watch for up to eight times. I’ve had the Valet Charger for a week and I’ve managed to recharge my smartphone about 6 times before the battery drained, but that includes me charging my Apple Watch as well, so results may vary.

The highlight of the Valet Charger is definitely the integrated magnetic Apple Watch charger, which works exactly like the one that came with the smartwatch.

The entire package looks great – but when you consider the $100 price, the features seems lacking. Considering that for something less, you have the option get a bigger capacity power bank that also includes multiple USB charging ports. For the price it feels like you’re paying more to get the built-in Apple Watch charger.

In the end of you do not want to carry around your Apple Watch charging cable then getting the Valet Charger is a good choice.

The Belkin Valet Charger delivers as a decent portable battery solution, but for $100, we’d suggest looking for less expensive alternatives.
