OnePlus 3T Review

Faster, better, stronger.

Faster, better, stronger.

In our original review of the OnePlus 3, we already said that it “improves upon its predecessors in every way and stands as one of the best smartphones we’ve tested,” which still holds true to this day.

But that conclusion might be short lived since OnePlus decided to release an even faster smartphone in the form of the OnePlus 3T – think of it as ‘S’ upgrade for the OnePlus. It features nearly the same physical dimensions and size, with only the internal specifications getting fresh new updates.

The OnePlus 3T now features a Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 processor running at 2.35 GHz with the same 6 GB of RAM. You can choose between 64 GB and 128 GB of internal storage but just like the original OnePlus 3, there is no option for expandable storage.

It also uses the same 5.5-inch AMOLED display with a full HD 1080p resolution. It may not match the ones offered by Samsung or Google, but the quality of the screen is top notch. Brilliant colors and deep dark blacks highlight the display of the OnePlus 3T.

The OnePlus 3T now comes a new gunmetal color in replacement of the original silver option, which makes the darker tone give it a more premium and classy look. The brushed metal exterior is a little slippery, so it’s best that you use a case with it.

The power button and volume rockers are located at both sides, with the signature alert slider present on the left side that conveniently lets you change the sound profile without having to turn go through the menu.

We Say

The OnePlus 3 gets even better with the 3T. The beefed up upgrades make it one of our top Android smartphone choices.
