Wading into 2012, we look back and ask ourselves: What was humanity watching in 2011? Apparently, it was talking dogs, cuddly kittens, gossiping babies, and kids with jedi-like super powers.

Kicking off the countdown is our personal favorite of the bunch with almost 90 million views (yup, you read right), "Ultimate Dog Tease" features one ingenuous (but adorable) talking pooch being teased by his owner.

At number two and 62 million views, two cutesy toddlers appear to be engaging in a rather intense conversation. Feel free to try and guess the topic at hand. Our best bet? One of the two is teasing the other about his missing a sock, while the latter tries to explain the joys and benefits of walking sockless. But it's really anybody's guess. They could be arguing over general relativity and Higgs' Bosons for all we know.

With 48 million views, number three is one clever advertisement by VW for the all-new 2012 passat. We don't know if the car would attain the same viral status of its commercial, however we're pretty sure you'll be spotting more than one Star Wars fan in a Passat on a highway near you real soon.

Hailing from Russia, number 4 managed to reap 41 million views of mostly kitten-loving YouTubers. Be warned though, be sure to take your pills unless you want to be the victim of cuteness overdose. "Mama  cat hugging baby" at number 4.

And finally, the Big Finale. While the following video has only 3 million views (so far), it sure managed to wow you with breathtaking, almost alien scenery and an ingenious idea. We won't say more, only that you probably won't understand what's happening until maybe halfway through the video.
