Zumba hits Six Million!
It’s something that got us all stirred up from our deep couches, a dance-based fun calorie-loser. And its made a whole ton. The original Zumba Fitness had notched up three million copies last August, and in just two months, the sequel has sold another three. Not too bad for a shake a leg with a difference… Wii's top selling game ladies and gentelmen.
BioShock Infinite Gets Hardcore
It’s one of those gaming plateaus you navigate with dread in your heart, but Irrational's Ken Levine feels BioShock actually has lost its hardcore touch. With the 1999 mode, he is set to reclaim some of the old glory. “I want to make sure that you don't lose things that are in our culture. …games were much harder then in general. They weren't just more difficult, they asked different things of you.”
Down with DRM!
You could say DRM is necessary to combat the evil pirates. Ubisoft had to take a n embarrassing U-turn after it was discovered its DRM on Anno 2070 didn’t allow users to freely upgrade or change their PC graphics cards. In other words, upgrade your card, and you lost one of those precious three activations tokens. Now the people have spoken!
PS Vita: Schtick that could have been
The Vita will be upon us in under a month, and we just came to know Sony toyed with removing the Vita's twin analogue sticks entirely. According to Sony designer Tokashi Sogabe, alternate options to the analogue sticks included flat slide pads and 5.5”screen with the buttons incorporated into the display. Duhhh..
The Loss Of Ericsson
Also on the Sony front, the JApanese giant reeling under the $449 million loss for the last fiscal quarter, and its latest acquisition is not helping. At All. The PlayStation-enabled Xperia Play was expected to be a competition to the S2’s and Titans of the world, but it came a cropper with sales down 20 per cent on last year.
