With the Apple iPhone 4S released, attention and rumour mill grinding now turns to Apple’s next-generation tablet with the iPad 3 reportedly entering production.
The iPad 3 release date is not expected until around March or April of 2012. Industry analyst Jeff Fidacaro claimed that the third-gen iPad device has entered production in China, to be constructed alongside the current iPad.
“Since our last month supply chain checks, we are now seeing 600,000 to one million iPad 3 builds showing up on the plan for the fourth quarter of calendar 2011,” Fidacaro has said.
Following a complete design overhaul between the first and second generation iPad devices, many expected Apple to once again revamp the form factor of the market dominating tablet.
However, iLounge's Editor-in-Chief recently claimed that he managed to catch a glimpse of the iPad 3, saying that it is virtually indistinguishable from the iPad 2 on the outside.
Our predictions for the 3rd generation include an A6 quad-core processor, a 9.7 inch version of the Retina display, and an improved camera.
