Popular streaming app Netflix has issued that removes access to all unlocked/rooted Android devices – though this refers to new devices who do not have the Netflix app installed. If it’s already on your device, then it will still work.

Netflix explained that the new version of their app for Android now “…rely on the Widevine DRM provided by Google; therefore, many devices that are not Google-certified or have been altered will no longer work with our latest app, and those users will no longer see the Netflix app in the Play Store.”

It also added that the latest version will only work with devices certified by Google. If your device is rooted, then you won’t see the Netflix app available for download on the Google Play Store.
