Surface Book 2 launches and it's faster than the MacBook Pro

More pixels and better battery life.

The Surface Book is the only Microsoft product that didn’t get an update last year, but that changes today when Microsoft officially announced the Surface Book 2.

Packing the newest 8th-generation Intel Core processors along with an Nvidia GeForce GTX 1050 and 1060 graphics options. This easily makes it even faster than the latest MacBook Pro – if you’re comparing it specs-wise.

But one of the key features of the Surface Book 2 may be the 17 hour battery life – which is something we’re keen on testing. But there’s a catch: that number is strictly for continuous video playback, so we don’t know what exactly how long it will last in real-time usage.

There will be two versions of the Surface Book 2: 13-inch and 15-inch models with built-in touchscreen support. Microsoft also added that its 15-inch version will pack in 45 percent more pixels than Apple’s MacBook Pro.

Pre-orders start November 9 for Surface Book 2 – no word yet on a Middle East launch.
