Uh-oh: some iPhone X units suffering from ‘linegate’

Index

Is your unit affected?

Days after lucky customers managed to get their hands on a shiny new iPhone X, some are already reporting a problem with the smartphone’s display. Users have said to have a bright green line running through the display. It varies in form, sometimes thick or thin, but restarting the device doesn’t get rid of it.

No one know how many units are affected, which is likely to be a hardware defect though Apple has neither confirmed or deny it. The good thing is that Apple has reportedly replaced affected units from customers so you’re at least sure that if yours has the ‘linegate’ issue, you’re getting a new device as a replacement.

Apple isn’t the only company plagued by display issues. Google’s recently released Pixel 2 XL smartphones have reported to have numerous display issues like burn-in and washed out colors. Google promised a software fix for the issues, though there is no word yet if the issues are hardware or software related.
