I have Snapchat installed on my smartphone, but I must admit that I hardly use it. Maybe because it’s quite complicated to use – there’s menus and options every time you swipe down, left or right. It’s a hit with the younger generation is seems, but users in the same age as me (and the older generations) find it difficult to use the app.

Which might be the cause for the app’s slowing growth, which was revealed by Snap CEO Evan Spiegel. He did acknowledge the complicated interface of the app, and also confirmed that the app is now getting redesigned to make it easier to use.

“One thing that we have heard over the years is that Snapchat is difficult to understand or hard to use, and our team has been working on responding to this feedback. As a result, we are currently redesigning our application to make it easier to use,” Spiegel said in a statement.

While not everyone might not be onboard with the redesign especially the ones who are used to using it on a daily basis, it’s something that Snap is willing to risk.

While no other details were provided, Snapchat’s redesign will also focus on easier content discovery, since a majority of content shared usually goes unnoticed.
