HP has just recently teamed up with Autodesk, Fusion, Launch Forth, Technicolor, Unreal Engine and VIVE to launch HP Mars Home Planet. This new project was made to help users experience how a human population could look like on Mars and it will all be presented through Virtual Reality.

The experience will include how life could be sustained in the red planet for a population of one million people. HP’s Mars Home Planet project is an advancement of the project initially created for Mars 2030 for NASA.

There will be three phases for the year-long program, which will start with the Home Planet’s Mars Urbanization Challenge where each participant would need to come up with transportation and infrastructure concepts that will be used for the virtual reality experience.

HP worked with Nvidia along with partners Technicolor, Autodesk, Unreal Engine, Fusion, Launch Forth and VIVE on the project.

HP Mars Home Planet is part of HP’s newly announced VR strategy which is focused on enabling brands to reimagine how they innovate and engage customers.
